In 2015, the United Nations announced the “2030 Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), which include three goals closely related to corporate sustainability, an area of recent advocacy within our department. These goals are as follows:
Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all individuals.
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, promote a green economy.
Corporate sustainability involves businesses striving for development while considering three dimensions: environmental, social, and economic. In recent years, in line with the global trend of sustainable development, many large corporations have established positions such as sustainability officers, sustainability experts, and sustainability consultants. Our department, through interdisciplinary learning and a blend of theory and practice, aligns with businesses to cultivate talents in corporate sustainable management.
In order to prepare the students for leadership and managerial roles in business, the Business Administration curriculum is designed to provide study in the subjects which include marketing management, financial management, human resource management, information management, technology management and production and operation management.
The learning objectives of the Business Administration department are:
Obtain the necessary skills to analyze and apply managerial knowledge.
Develop innovation and execution skills for the purpose of solving business related problems.

The Ph.D. program
The Ph.D. program includes the business management division and the art management division. The business management division cultivates students’ academic research ability through theoretical and practical management courses. The art management division is based on humanistic cultivation, deepening artistic literacy and creative thinking, and through cross-domain cultural vision, making good use of management knowledge to become outstanding academic researchers in the art industry and entrepreneurship.
The MBA program
The MBA program includes the business management division and the art management division. The business management division cultivates students’ problem-solving skills through practical courses such as corporate and real management problem-solving. The art management division is based on humanistic cultivation(Recrui Students from 2022 Academic Year), deepening artistic literacy and creative thinking, and through cross-domain cultural vision, making good use of management knowledge to become outstanding leaders in the art industry and entrepreneurship.
The In-Service Master program
In-Service Master Program has three groups: Senior Manager Group, Professional Manager Group and Leadership, Innovation and Liberal Arts Group.
The former three groups emphasize the curriculum of combining innovation and practice, aiming to develop students who can apply their knowledge to work and life. The latter group emphasizes “Leadership, Innovation, Liberal arts”. With the goal of cultivating a leader who possess macro-leadership and cultural literacy.

High-Tech Industry Management Division.
Department of Business Administration is a professional field that integrates technology and management. This division is designed for those who want to work as product/marketing managers in technology-intensive industries or industrial analysts in Venture Capital. The objective of this division is to educate more professional managers in High-Tech industries.
Service Industry Management Division.
Department of Business Administration is a professional field that shows adaptations and applications of management ideas to the service setting. Due to the importance of service in today’s competitive environment, this division is designed for students interested in working in traditional service industries and the service areas of manufacturing industries. The objective of this division is to educate more professional managers in service industries.
Industrial and Business Management Division.
Department of Business Administration is a professional field that trains students with management knowledge and leadership skills to prepare them to become competent professionals with leadership potential. The division integrates business function knowledge (marketing management, financial management, human resource management, information management, production and operation management, and technology management) and emphasizes a teamwork approach to learning. The objective of this division is to nurture professional managers and outstanding business leaders in the global market.

The Department of Business Administration at Chung Yuan Christian University was established in 1967. It has more 45 years of history until now. Currently, there are four classes in each grade. All together there are sixteen classes and almost 1000 students in the department.
The freshmen registration rate is more than 98% in recent three years. The teaching performance has been widely recognized.
Following the government’s authorization to establish the College of Business in 1980, the university, continued to devote in promoting the research education. Thus, in 1983 it created the Graduate School of Business Administration master program. It is one of the best MBA postgraduate degrees with the longest history in Taiwan.
Since 2005, the department has also been approved to provide the PhD degree in Business Administration.
To uphold the “holistic education and lifetime learning” philosophy,
The department had in 1999 launched the Executive Postgraduate degree (EMBA), which provides business executives a retraining opportunity, and a close-knit exchange and cooperation between the industry and the academic sector. 60 professional executives register for the postgraduate study. The department has started the extension course for Business Managers with the center for Continuing Education. The students who pass the program will possess a certificate of credits issued by our school. Once the students are admitted through the entrance examination of graduated school (MBA or EMBA) in the department, his/her credits can be entirely or partly transferred, according to the related regulation of the department.
Additionally, the department has extended the continuing education through some enterprises. Combining the internal training system of the companies, the department has set up many “Enterprise College “and started credit courses of the master degree. Many famous businesses and organizations have participated in the internal training credit courses, including Air Force Command Headquarters, Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology (CSIST), Worldwide Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (WSMC), China Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd (CCPC), HannStar, China Motor Corporation (CMC), MP Command Center, Army Communication Electronic Information School and Golden Lion International Holdings Limited.
